looking forward.

Is it just me, or did summer fly by way too quick. I say this every year but I cannot believe it’s September already! The long weekend in August always makes me pause and look back and get a little sad that the long, lazy days of summer are at an end… but a great way to combat this is to start looking forward to Autumn and thinking about cosier styles, warmer colour palettes and snuggled nights…

A great way to start getting your space autumn-ready is to start introducing a sprinkling of darker hues throughout. Textues are great all year round but autumn (and indeed winter but we’re not ready to talk about that yet!) in particular creates a perfect opportunity to layer up those chunky knit throws and patterned fabrics.

Here are a few inspirational images that I am loving at the moment and is making that transition to autumn a little bit easier…

Dark hues against crisp white backfdrop make a stark but cosy contrast
This party has been going on for a while now but OMG this copper light (and lets be honest anything copper!) from The Forest & Co is showstopping
Mixing patterns with stripes is a perfect layering combination
The classic autumnal colours will never grow old
Leather detailing ❤
Toning down the minimalism of summer with rustic, woody tones
Again with the leather detailing aaah! and with this minimal palette and chunky knit (from the gorgeous Little Dandelion for Kara Rosenlund) I’m ready to curl up here already
In love with this black sofa (from the wonderful vtwonen), a bold choice and complimented perfectly with the copper details

In order of appearance, images borrowed from these lovelies: Inspirations Deco | The Forest & Co | The Every Girl | Sainsburys | Design Binge | Nordic Design | Glitter Inc | vtwonen
